Prioritization balancing

Wondering what is a best ration of how much of PM attention is on the competition analysis versus, customer-focused or metrics driven innovation?
Is there any silver bullet rule here for mid-size products?
What do you do if your competitor launches a feature which is absolutely amazing?

Hi @JorgeLasse! I have experienced similar problem in big companies I was working in. I think It is very important that the CPO or VP of product management maintains the product portfolio on different stages in the lifecycle. Let’s say for innovative product the competitor analysys can be not a priority. It is better to focus on customer needs.
For a established B2B product, the competitor analysis will be more important.
